Breast Imaging

Breast imaging commonly includes mammography and/or ultrasound. Your age and symptoms will determine which is the best option and method.

What type of Breast Imaging do I need?

If you are aged 40 and above without any symptoms then you need to go to BreastScreen Tasmania for your mammogram. You do not need a referral.

If you are aged 35 + with a symptom then you will need to have a mammogram and ultrasound at Women’s Imaging.

If you are aged 35 and under then you will need an ultrasound first and we may decide to do a targeted mammogram on the day.
